{"id":2375,"date":"2017-02-08T14:11:35","date_gmt":"2017-02-08T13:11:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yanado.com\/blog\/?p=2375"},"modified":"2017-02-08T14:11:35","modified_gmt":"2017-02-08T13:11:35","slug":"import-projects-from-asana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yanado.com\/blog\/import-projects-from-asana\/","title":{"rendered":"Import Projects From Asana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To successfully import your projects and tasks from Asana, export board to a file in JSON format, and upload to Yanado.<\/p>\n<h2>How to export data from Asana?<\/h2>\n<p>Click on the project you want to export on the left side of the screen like on the picture below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/yanado.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/asana-projects.gif\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2377\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2377\" src=\"https:\/\/yanado.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/asana-projects.gif\" alt=\"asana projects\" width=\"540\" height=\"379\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Once the project is opened, click on the arrow on the right side of the project name (see gif below), select Export and then select JSON menu option.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/yanado.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/asana-export-json.gif\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2378\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2378\" src=\"https:\/\/yanado.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/asana-export-json.gif\" alt=\"asana export json\" width=\"615\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The content of the JSON file will be opened within the browser. Save the file as JSON format.<\/p>\n<p>To do so, click on the File-&gt;Save Page As in your browser menu. Your browser will automatically recognize the file format, so just click the Save button. Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/settings.yanado.com\/#\/import-tasks\" target=\"_blank\">Import Tasks section in Yanado settings page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the middle of the screen, click the dropdown menu and select import type, then select Asana.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/yanado.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/select-import-source.gif\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2364\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2364\" src=\"https:\/\/yanado.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/select-import-source.gif\" alt=\"select import source\" width=\"620\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Click Select File that will appear after you have selected Asana,then locate and upload exported JSON file.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/yanado.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Screen-Shot-2017-02-08-at-1.54.39-PM.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2379\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2379\" src=\"https:\/\/yanado.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Screen-Shot-2017-02-08-at-1.54.39-PM.png\" alt=\"asana json\" width=\"707\" height=\"443\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once upload is completed, there\u2019s one more step left before we successfully import tasks from asana.<\/p>\n<h2>Map users<\/h2>\n<p>Since Asana\u00a0doesn\u2019t provides user email addresses, Yanado can\u2019t match Asana\u00a0users with Yanado users without your help.<\/p>\n<p>All you have to do is to map users from Yanado to users from Asana\u00a0and Yanado will do the magic.<\/p>\n<p>On the left side of the page you have list of Yanado users and on the right side you have a dropdown with all users from Asana.
